Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
God created the world and everything in it. Then he created man so he could fellowship with him, first Adam and then Eve. Adam and Eve roamed freely in the Garden. They were spiritually connected to God. And they walked with God and they talked with God. The only rule God gave them was to not eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil or else they would "surely die". Then one day Satan came into garden in the form of a snake. He told Eve that God didn't want her to eat of the Tree of Knowledge because He didn't want her and Adam to know what He knows and to have the power He has. Eve fell for Satan's lies and ate of the apple and so did Adam. As soon as they ate of the apple they died spiritually (became disconnected from God). They were now sinners on a path to physical death as well. Since God is perfect and His justice is perfect. He can't be in the presence of unrighteousness. So, Adam and Eve were thrown out of the garden. Since all men are Adam's descendants, all men as soon as they are physically born have inherited Adam's sin nature and are born separated from God, spiritually dead, on a path to physical death with hell as their ultimate destination. Since we are born sinners, we sin. You don't have to teach a young child to act badly it comes naturally because it is inherited. But God loves us so much that he wants us to be with Him. So He provided a way for us to become righteous. The only way to atone for sin is by a blood sacrifice. In the Old Testament, they killed perfect male lambs to atone for man's sin. But every time man sinned he needed a new sacrifice. God provided us a better way. He provided the Lamb of God. His one and only Son, Jesus came to earth in the form of a man. Jesus lived a perfect life and was without sin. He became a perfect blood sacrifice for man's sin. When he was crucified He was able to make atonement once, for all men. He took the punishment for all of our sins. When we accept Christ, the Son of God as our savior, His blood washes away all of our sins past, present, and future. We are now dead to sin, because we have been forgiven. Sin no longer has dominion over our lives. We are now spiritually connected to God eternally through Jesus Christ and what He did for us. Before we were sinners who sinned. Now we are saints and although we still engage in sinful behavior at times because we still have a flesh nature, our sins are already forgiven. So now that we are justified in Christ, we can come into the presence of God and have a relationship with Him. When you become a child of God your life drastically changes because God's Holy Spirit comes to reside in you. You are a part of the body of Christ. All who are saved are part of the same spiritual body of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God.
